A GROUP of demonstrators gathered in front of Central World department store late this afternoon (Sept. 4) to push for halting the power of three retired army generals grouped under “Sam Por”, or the Three Ps, namely suspended Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, caretaker Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuman and Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda whose nickname is Pok, Matichon newspaper said.
Led by Mr. Jatuporn Promphan and Mr. Nitithorn Lumluea, or lawyer Nok Khao, from Khana Lom Ruam Prachachon (Group for the Melting of the People Together) the event took place on the footpath in front of the department store as barricades had been put up to block the participants from entering its large courtyard.
A sign was displayed saying, “Sorry for the inconvenience but this area is being set up for the event” with only one channel opened to enter and leave it.
By 4.55 p.m. the participants had filled the footpath and overflowed onto one road channel where an audio vehicle was parked. Jatuporn together with other leaders of this activist group took turns giving speeches on “Stop the Power of 3 Ps, Count One Thailand.”
Other activists wearing white T-shirts emblazoned with the message “Stop the Power of 3 Ps” displayed banners and images opposing Gen. Prayut and Gen. Prawit.
