AS news spread in Thai social media that Laos has announced that foreigners with a work visa may get the much sought after Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine many have said they are keen on crossing the border to get this jab rather than what is currently available but in short supply in Thailand, Sanook.com said this evening (June 14).

The Laotian Medical Health Education and Information Centre posted a message yesterday that it is opening the door for foreigners with a work visa for their country to get vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine provided they are part of the targeted group and can show that they have valid documentation to get a jab of this vaccine.

Aside from foreigners Laotians over 60 years of age were also offered this vaccine but they have to show their ID card or household registration book to verify their status. Those with underlying diseases would have to bring medical certificates along to ascertain they can receive this shot.

This post attracted a lot of comments from Thai netizens and was shared numerous times. Many said they would like to get the Pfizer vaccine that Laotians have obtained while others pointed out that it is mainly for foreigners.

However many openly mentioned that they would like to cross the border to get the Pfizer shot there.
