A SPOKESMAN of the Prime Minister’s Office this afternoon (July 14) clarified that Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has not suspended the mixing of coronavirus vaccines but drew attention to the World Health Organisation (WHO’s) warning on this issue with the public told not to make their own decision and to listen to the public health agency, Thai Rath newspaper said.
Mr. Anucha Burapachaisri, spokesman of the PM’s office, said the government encourages the finding of the best solution to the Covid-19 pandemic with Thai medical experts having not stopped thinking about this issue and refuse to accept defeat against the Delta variant of the coronavirus.
At the same time it is important for the government to provide comprehensive knowledge to the people.
Therefore, the Prime Minister has no policy to suspend the mixing of coronavirus vaccines and urges all parties to listen to the opinion of the National Communicable Disease Committee which will be considering this issue carefully.
The warning by WHO against mixing and matching vaccines is important but people should not make their own decision on this matter as it is for the public health agency to decide on the basis of available information.
