AFTER the mother of actress Pataratida Patcharawirapong, or Tangmo Nida, who drowned in Chao Phraya river during a speedboat trip last week revealed a big compensation offer in TV Channel 3 programme Hone Krasea today (Mar. 4) critical comments by Thai netizens and celebrities flooded the social media , Amarin TV said.
Ms. Panida Siriyuthyothin, Tangmo Nida’s mother, said she is ready to forgive Mr. Tanupat Lerttaweewit, or Hi So Por, and Mr. Phiboon Trikanjananun, or Robert or Bird, two of five friends who were with her when she fell into the river because they were respectful and sincere. The former is the owner of the speedboat while the latter the skipper.
She added that Hi So Por has been calling everyday to apologise and say he would take care of everything, agreeing to give her 30 million baht compensation, but clarified she is not forgiving him because of the large compensation he is giving her.
After this interview the Thai online world turned hot with the hashtags, “Hone Krasae” and “There are mothers who are there when you are ready” turning into the day’s top trends on Twitter.
Members of the entertainment industry also expressed critical opinions with popular stars posting hashtag messages such as “It has ended, move on,” “I have had enough,” “Better to go watch the war.”
DJ Sakuntala Tianpairote, or Tonhom, said via Instagram, “Mother it has come, thick bundles of money, what mum wanted, paying 30 million baht, so sincere.”
Actress and singer Ms. Worranit Thawornwong, or Mook, tweeted, “it’s sad when all the people in the country are ready to fight for justice but people at home give up.”
Meanwhile Napat Chumitri, or King Kongbai, a comedian and host, posted a message on Facebook saying “Mom doesn’t suspect, so who are you to follow (the case)?”
