Corrections Department shuts its Lazada shop

 

SOON after royalists rallied at Lazada’s office on Sukhumvit road to demand a more serious apology over a promotional video clip criticised for referring to the monarchy as they were not satisfied with the apology issued earlier, the Corrections Department announced the closure of its Wansuk shop at Lazada platform for improvement, Naewna newspaper said today (May 7).

This promotional video clip was produced by Mr. Anivat Prathumthin, or Nara Crepe Kratoey, a popular net idol and had attracted a lot of comments from activist groups. Lazada’s top officials had refused to come down to meet the protesters who were dissatisfied that a junior staff member had been sent to receive their complaint.

Following this incident, the Corrections Department today posted an infographic on its Facebook page announcing Wansuk, which sells products made by inmates in the Work Skills Promotion Group. Behaviour Development Division, is shutting its Lazada shop to make improvements with shoppers told they could still purchase these products at th Wansuk shop at Shopee platform, via its Facebook page and Line messaging app.

Earlier the Royal Chitralada Projects, Doi Kham Food Products Co., Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of instant food and fruit juice, and Mae Fah Luang Foundation’s Doi Tung shop likewise announced the closure of their Lazada shops for improvement.
