Bike-riding teen protesters fire firecrackers at police in Din Daeng hotspot

THE protest against Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha at Din Daeng intersection that started this afternoon (June 19) had not ended by nightfall with motorcycle-riding teenagers replacing senior demonstrators there and provoking police teams by firing firecrackers at them despite the rain, Thai Rath newspaper said this evening (Jan. 19).

The teenagers zoomed in on their motorcycles after the senior protesters started gradually leaving the area, parking in front of Klao Siam condo and then fired firecrackers at police teams in front of the Thaivivat Insurance Company building from 7.15 p.m. onwards.

At 7. 38 p.m., despite the heavy rain, the loud sound of firecrackers exploding could be heard.

At 8.18 p.m. police announced that ordinary people and the media not related to the clash with the teen protesters should go home even though it was still raining heavily.

They then searched various spots where teenage protesters might be hiding to arrest them for further legal action.
