Air force trainer crashlands killing one pilot, injuring another

AN AIR FORCE trainer plane crashlanded in a Bangkok outlying province today (Apr.29), killing one pilot and seriously injuring another.

Air force spokesman AM Prapat Sonjaidee said the CT-4E piston-engined, two-seat trainer crashlanded as it was making a landing on an airfield at the air force’s Kampaengsaen Flying Training School in Nakhon Pathom.

The pilot killed in the incident of the New Zealand-built Airtrainer plane was identified as Flight Lieutenant Supakit Inthachai and the injured pilot was identified as Pilot Officer Purin Chana, according to the air force spokesman.

Due to today’s crashlanding mishap the cause of which is yet to be investigated, all CT-4E aircraft deployed by the air force are grounded for the time being, AM Prapat said.
