PALANG PRACHARATH LEADER Prawit Wongsuwan paid a personal visit to Laos’ Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone in Vientiane today (Mar 3).
The Palang Pracharath leader said he visited the Lao prime minister entirely on a personal basis and did by no means represent the Pheu Thai-led government. Neither did he act on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment of which his brother Patcharawat Wongsuwan is currently taking charge during his private meeting with the Lao prime minister whom, he said without elaborating, he has known as a friend for a long time.
However, the former deputy prime minister who rode in a boat across Mekong River from Nong Khai to the Lao capital was apparently concerned over an alarming level of PM 2.5 airborne particulate matter in Thailand reportedly coming across the international river from Laos.
Meanwhile, the Palang Pracharath leader shook his head and sidestepped a reporter’s question as to whether he will pay an informal visit to de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict on parole Thaksin Shinawatra at the latter’s Chan Song Lah residence sooner or later.
Thaksin’s daughter/Pheu Thai leader Paetongtarn Shinawatra has reportedly offered to arrange visits to her father by the ruling party’s cabinet members and MPs, among others.
Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin was the second guest to Thaksin’s home on the Thonburi side of the Thai capital, closely following in the footsteps of former Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen.
