A THAI WOMAN said in a Facebook post today (May 3) that with the temperature soaring higher than 43 degrees Celsius all the durian in her orchard have fallen and cracked up with this being the worst setback she has ever suffered, Amarin TV said.
The Facebook user, Ton Aor, said in a post with accompanying photos which she shared to a group called “durian beginners – we learn together” that her loss amounted to around 100,000 baht.
“It’s all gone, from falling and cracking up, but now my stress has gone too.
“At first I was very stressed, afraid all the durian in the orchard would fall but now that this has happened, my stress too disappeared.”
She added that it is very clear that the extremely hot weather is what caused the durian to fall because water never runs out at her house.
Hers is a mixed orchard with different fruits grown but this year she had expected to earn a lot from the durians.
However, she added that while her damage is approximately 100,000 baht, others who invested millions in far bigger orchards too have seen their crops destroyed.
