PRIME MINISTER SRETTHA Thavisin is scheduled to hold bilateral security talks with his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim at a southernmost border checkpoint on the upcoming Saturday.
Accompanied by Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, the Thai prime minister will hold talks with his Malaysian counterpart primarily pertaining to cross-border security matters and related issues at Su-ngai Kolok border checkpoint in Narathiwat and Rantau Panjang border checkpoint in Malaysia’s Kelantan State.
Srettha and his entourage are scheduled to make the one-day journey on Saturday to Thailand’s southernmost region sharing border with Malaysia whilst insurgent-sowed unrests in Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat have sporadically occurred.
The Thai prime minister is also scheduled to leave for Phnom Penh next month to hold bilateral talks with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet on shared efforts to crack down on call-centre scammers allegedly holed up in Cambodia and preying on unsuspecting victims in Thailand.
In the meantime, the prime minister said, Thai and Cambodian police commanders will hold talks in the Cambodian capital shortly on the issue besieging Thailand.
