A CUSTOMER who had just got his ticket to join a long line outside a popular sukiyaki restaurant in Chonburi last night (Nov. 2) got enraged at a queue scalper selling entry tickets to those wanting to jump the queue and stabbed him in the chest, Amarin TV said.
At around 11 p.m. Mueang Chonburi police station and Thammarat Manirat Rescue Foundation were alerted that someone had been stabbed in front of a sukiyaki restaurant in a department store and quickly rushed there.
Just outside the eatery they found Mr. Prayut (surname withheld), 39, stabbed in the chest with a sharp knife with the rescuers quickly giving him first aid and taking him to the hospital.
This TV station’s reporter went there to find out the details of this crime and was told by Mr. Santhaya Kamphee, a village headman in Na Pa subdistrict, that there is profitable business of reselling entry tickets to this restaurant which is popular with diners having to wait in line for a long time. These scalpers charge 20 to 50 baht a ticket.
Last night an argument broke out between a man who just pressed and got his ticket and a scalper with the former then stabbing the latter.
Police are now waiting for the victim to file a complaint so as to track down and take legal action against the perpetrator.
