AFTER a hair-raising video clip showing a woman opening the door of a moving pickup truck and trying to jump out went viral on social media police moved it to intercept the vehicle and it turned out it was a foreign husband and his Thai wife quarreling with the former not point a pistol at the latter as claimed, TV Channel 7 and Naewna newspaper said late afternoon today (Jan. 17).
A Facebook user whose Thai name is Kraiwich Chan Oat Koo Phai Lang Suan posted the video clip below with a message warning those on Lang Suan-Chumphon road to beware that a foreigner is pointing a gun at a woman and there are also two children in the vehicle with Chumphon police chasing it.
However when police stopped the vehicle at around 4.25 p.m. it turned out that there were three persons in it, the foreign husband, his Thai wife and their child. No firearm was found there.
The unidentified Thai woman said the three of them were driving to Nakhon Ratchasima to pick up her mother-in-law, who is Swiss, and take her to Krabi.
Along the way her husband and her quarrelled after he accused her of having fallen in love with another man. As she had been drinking wine and was slightly drunk, she got hurt by his accusation and opened the door to try to jump out but even while driving he managed to pull her back in but this caused the vehicle to swerve.
However she admitted that the video clip had shocked many people.
As police did not find a pistol in the vehicle they took the couple to the police station to measure their alcohol levels and test for drugs.
