THE Border Patrol Police schools in Surin province held an evacuation drill this morning (June 6) to train students on handling a crisis amid Thai-Cambodian border tension after a clash at Chong Bok, Ubon Ratchathani province, on May 28, Naewna newspaper said.
The drill was led by headmasters and teachers of the Border Patrol Police Division (BPP 21) schools. The students were trained on evacuating systematically, not panic, and head for bunkers located within the school compound and in the village.
The schools participating in the drill were located at Dong Rak, Kap Choeng and Buachet districts of this border province.
Pol. Col. Jakkarin Onndee, commander of BPP21, and his team oversaw the drill to build morale and closely monitor the situation thus ensuring that preparations are effective.
This rehearsal reflects the commitment to taking care of the safety of students and personnel in risk areas, adhering to the principle “Thailand loves peace but is not afraid of war”, which means carefully and strongly preparing to handle every situation.
