Heartbroken teen boy commits suicide

A LOVELORN 15-year-old Thai teenage boy died after shooting himself in the chest today (June 8) leaving a handwritten letter to bring his former girlfriend to him because he loved her very much, TV Channel 7 said this evening.

At 2.22 p.m. Pol. Col. Achirawat Thavorncharoenwat, superintendent of Nakhon Pathom City police station, and officers from Forensic Science Division 7 together with Suksalanugroh Foundation rescuers went to a rented room after being alerted that A (assumed name), 15, had shot himself there.

Upon arrival they found the teenager lying in front of the rented room and barely breathing after shooting himself in the right rib cage. A team of doctors from Nakhon Pathom Hospital came there and gave him cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and took him to the hospital but he later died because he had shot himself at a vital point.

Upon inspecting the room police found a letter A wrote bidding farewell and asking that his grandmother and vehicle be taken care of and to bring his ex-girlfriend to him because he loved her so much. In addition, a homemade 9mm pistol was found in the bathroom which was collected as evidence.

A’s 16-year-old friend told police that he lived alone with his grandmother. Yesterday he had picked him up from his home to sleep over at his room and was about to take him back home.

His friend added that the suicide stemmed from A having broken up with his girlfriend, B (assumed name), who he had dated for two years. He tried to patch up their relationship, persuading B every day but she would not return to him.

He had told A to take a shower as he had to ride a motorcycle to return home and while he did so he was sitting outside using his mobile phone. He then heard a loud sound like a gunshot and quickly went to check before running out and shouting to his neighbours to come and help and call the police.

The police team collected gunpowder residue from the teenager’s body as well as other evidence and took his friend for further questioning at the police station. His body was sent for an autopsy after which it would be handed over to his family for funeral.
