Ms. Phon, the deceased woman’s daughter, told police that eight members of her family came to Udon Thani from Samut Prakan during to the long holiday. This morning, they drove to the temple to offer alms to monks but as there were a lot of people within the compound, they dropped her off by the roadside to wait and give alms to monks as they passed by.

After she had given alms to six monks, her younger brother who drove out to then return and park and wait for their mother suddenly zoomed in fast and hit her hard while another sister standing nearby managed to jump out of the way.

Police sent the victim’s body to the hospital for autopsy before summoning the driver and eyewitnesses for questioning. He has been charged with reckless driving causing death.
