QUESTIONS have arisen over a Belarusian cargo plane landing at Phnom Penh after the 72-hour Thai-Cambodian ceasefire started at noon today (Dec. 27) as it appeared to have deliberately detoured Thai airspace, Amarin TV said this evening.
A post at the Army Military Force Facebook page said the following: “What now!? Just a few hours after the ceasefire came into effect, there’s a report of noteworthy air movement. A cargo plane, model Ilyushin IL-62MGr, flight RDA2275, registration EW-450TR, was seen entering Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
“The plane originated from Belarus, a close ally of Russia, and made a stopover in Mombasa, Kenya, before continuing to Cambodia. It appears the flight path was deliberately detoured to avoid Thai airspace, choosing to fly through Malaysian airspace instead.
“Currently, there is no official information on the cargo on board, but the appearance of a cargo plane from a Russian ally immediately after the clash garnered significant public attention.
“Thanks @RonallChersan for some of the information.”
