WITH THE Middle East war still raging Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat today (Mar. 17) reassured people that there are enough stocks of medicines and medical supplies for several months, PPTVHD36 said.
All hospital have been instructed to check their stocks of these vital supplies as well as their sources.
Thailand purchases medicines from the US and China, not Middle Eastern countries, he said, but adding that the country is not complacent anticipating potential delays and increased transportation costs.
This could lead to prices rising but the ministry is not ignoring the issue and will continue to coordinate with the private sector and hospitals to ensure smooth management of medicines and medical supplies, Pattana added.
It is also not currently necessary to reserve fuel for ambulances and emergency vehicles but hospitals had been instructed to prepare for evacuation of patients without any interruption and ensure continuous patient care.
