Red shirts continue rallying for second day

RED-SHIRT followers assembled at Santiporn Park on Ratchadamnoen Klang Avenue for the second day today (April 5) as they continued pressuring for Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to step down while also calling the release of protest leaders detained under Section 112 of the Criminal Code, known as the lese majeste law, Thai Rath newspaper said.

They were led by Mr. Jatuporn Prompan, president of the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) and Mr. Adul Kheawboriboon, UDD’s chairman, with the gathering entitled “Thais won’t tolerate anymore, people unite, for Thailand.”

Those assembled listened to speeches on their demands that Prime Minister Prayut resign and the release of those arrested on Section 112 charges with protest leaders being allowed to be bailed out.

There was also a call for people with the same opinion to show their strenght and join forces for what they believe in until success is achieved.

Participants gave the three-finger salute as a symbol of their demand that protest leaders and members of the People’s Party be released.
