POLICE today (August 11) shut a bar in Sukhumvit Soi 22 and two pubs in Thonglor area for operating and serving alcohol without the proper permits with the latter two also faulted for flouting Covid control measures, Naewna newspaper said.
Deputy National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Roy Ingkapairote ordered the closure of Otto Bar in Sukhumvit Soi 22 for 30 days after it was found to have both set up this establishment and sold liquor without valid licences.
Also closed for 60 days were Emerald Club in Thonglor Soi 13 and Krystal Club in Thonglor Soi 25 after they were found to have set up their pubs, where alcohol was served, live music played and dance shows performed, without proper licence.
Moreover both were found to have violated Covid control measures as announced by the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) with their employees serving customers without wearing a face mask, minimum one-metre social distance between customers not maintained and the number of patrons not controlled.
