Prayut dodges bags of fermented fish sauce, literally

By Thai Newsroom Reporters

PRIME MINISTER PRAYUT Chan-o-cha literally evaded bags of fermented fish sauce and other unpleasant liquids which some political activists might have otherwise thrown at him during his visit to Nonthaburi today (Oct. 13).

Prayut was advised by his entourage to skip a spot on his scheduled trip to visit villagers affected by flooding in the province’s capital district on the banks of Chao Phraya River where the anti-Prayut demonstrators had reportedly prepared bags of fermented fish sauce, red dye and other stenching liquids to hurl at him.

The premier proceeded to an inundated community in Pakkred district and cancelled his planned visit to the flooded spot where the anti-Prayut protesters, led by political activist Shinawat Chankrachang, had reportedly waited for him.

Prayut who has been allowed by the Constitutional Court to prolong his rule until 2025 told the villagers whom he visited that he did not understand why his helpful journey should have been received by those protesters in such hostile fashion.

Accompanying the premier to the flood-hit Nonthaburi were Interior Minister Anupong Paochinda, Digital Economy & Society Minister Chaiwut Tanakhamanusorn and Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin, among other government officials.
