Warm up for Loy Krathong at Rama VIII park 

 

LOTS of people were flocking to Rama VIII park to participate in wholesome Loy Krathong eve fun with exciting games, thrilling rides and delicious food on offer, Matichon newspaper said.

A correspondent of this newspaper said by 9 p.m. tonight (Nov. 7) “The International Amusement Park Siam Carnival Fun Fair”, which is one of three main Loy Krathong events organised by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), was filled with a lively crowd of merrymakers.

This fun fair started on Oct. 28 with tomorrow, Nov. 8 Loy Krathong day, being the last day. Among the joyful activities are Ferris Wheel and Viking boat rides, pedal boats for children and shooting galleries.

The Miracle of Life Foundation has organised food and beverage booths plus others selling all kinds of merchandise under the project “One heart … for the People.” 

There is a sign saying sale of alcoholic beverages is forbidden with violators facing 2,000 baht fine.

Signs have been put up at the entrance of Soi Arun Amarin 57 that leads to the Loy Krathong event zone. BMA has also set up a tent to show the arrangement of this fun fair and assist participants.

Mr. Uthai Samphan, acting head of Municipal Affairs division, Bang Phlat district, said various units are working together to ensure security with district officials cooperating with Metropolitan and Tourist police teams and firemen from  Bowonmongkol and Bang Aor stations in doing so.

They are keeping a close eye on setting off fireworks and releasing floating lanterns as they may lead to a serious accident.
