BOTH cheers and criticism emerged in Nakhon Si Thammarat after jailed politician Mr. Thepthai Senpong put up a large New Year greeting billboard depicting himself behind bars outside his home, Matichon newspaper said this morning (Dec. 7).
Thepthai’s brother, Mr. Pongsin Senpong, also posted a picture of the New Year greeting signboard on his Facebook page with a message that as the month of December had started with the world about to enter the New Year it is customary for politicians to post signs wishing their constituents well.
This year, even though Thepthai is in Nakhon Si Thammarat jail, he sends his love and good wishes to his constituents as he has always done.
On July 6 this year former MP Thepthai along with Mr. Manoch Senpong, the first defendant who is also his brother, were jailed for two and banned from politics for 10 years after being found guilty of corruption charges in the election of Provincial Administrative Organization chief in 2014.
The case had been filed by Mr. Pichai Bunyakiat, a former Provincial Administrative Organization chief, who is the brother of Mr. Chinnaworn Bunyakiat, an MP of this province.
