Naval officer busted for drugs

 

A CHONBURI police team this morning (Dec. 15) arrested a naval officer on drug trafficking charges under a warrant issued by Nong Khai Provincial Court, Naewna newspaper said.

Pol. Col. Jakraphan Kittisiriphonkul, deputy chief of Chonburi Police, together with Pol. Col. Panya Dumlek, head of Sattahip police station, and their team took Petty Officer 1st Class (PO1) Wutthipong Kittikorn, or Sgt. Ek, 29, into custody after he was found to be linked to another naval officer who had also been arrested on drug charges and later discharged from government service.

Police had earlier found that PO1 Anuchit (surname withheld), or Sgt. Kung, was involved in drugs after finding his mobile phone number in the cell phone of an arrested drug runner, only identified as Mr. Kittisak.

PO1 Wutthipong was charged with distributing for intended sale Category 1 drugs, methamphetamine (Yaba) and 3.4 Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA; ecstasy) plus importing a Category 2 drug, Ketamine, into the country.
