Woman stunned at being hit with 6.5 million baht parking fee at mall

A WOMAN who had parked her car at a well-known shopping mall for a couple of hours was shocked at being being hit with over 6.5 million baht parking fee but this later turned out to be an error by the payment machine, Sanook.com said this evening (Jan. 5).

Crew of Hone Krasae programme on TV Channel 3 said on their Facebook page that the unidentified woman had parked her car at the unnamed shopping mall at around 9 a.m. and went out to run errands.

Upon returning and driving out of the shopping mall at 11 a.m., she was shocked to find out her parking fee totalled 6,574,590 million baht, which she said is higher than what her house is worth.

The car park attendants too were confused and said the car park payment machine probably made a mistake.

After a while the huge bill was cancelled because she had parked for less than the four-hour free parking duration. The shopping mall management then apologised for their machine having made this error and the woman let it go without taking action.
