THE PALANG PRACHARATH PARTY has earned 510 million baht in cash from last night’s (Jan.30) fundraising event at a Bangkok hotel.
The largest coalition partner sold a total of 170 dining tables of selected foods for three million baht each to raise the 510 million baht fund for their nationwide campaign during a current run-up to a general election with party leader Prawit Wongsuwan to be named partisan contestant for prime minister.
Prawit told donors among affluent businesspersons and others during the Palang Pracharath fundraising dinner that he has been readied with a “heart-driven force” to contest the next general election for prime minister with his ruling party getting prepared to remain core of a coalition government as had been the case after the 2019 election.
The Palang Pracharath boss who concurrently acts as deputy prime minister reassured he has been prepared to run the country as the 30th prime minister.
Prawit admitted he may have been earlier taken to task for repeatedly saying “dunno, dunno” when asked by reporters to comment on anything, but he said he has acquired a lot of knowledge and understanding about many things of which he could respond to questions.
Meanwhile, Prawit said the “fraternal” relationship between the so-called Sam Por trio of virtual brothers, namely Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Interior Minister Anupong Paojinda and himself, will remain unchanged though one may be taking a different political path from the others.
The Palang Pracharath boss apparently referred to Prayut who has already left his camp for the Ruam Thai Sang Chart with intent to retain power for two more years under the brand-new party’s tickets.
