BHUMJAITHAI SECRETARY-GENERAL Saksayam Chidchob was today (Mar. 3) ordered by court to immediately stop performing as transport minister, pending a court ruling on his alleged holding of corporate shares.

The Constitutional Court has suspended Saksayam, brother of de facto Bhumjaithai party boss Newin Chidchob, from doing his ministerial duties with immediate effect after he had been alleged of concurrently holding shares in a construction firm, namely Buri Charoen Construction Ltd. Part.

However, Saksayam has contended that he had sold his shares in the construction firm well before he assumed his cabinet seat in 2019.

The Bhumjaithai secretary-general said he will focus on partisan campaigns during the current run-up to a general election now that he has been suspended by court from work on his portfolio.

Deputy Transport Minister Athirat Ratanaset is now working on behalf of the suspended transport minister.
