ADVANCED Info Service Plc (AIS) today (May 16) announced that it is introducing HBO programmes on both AIS Play streaming service and AIS Playbox set-top box, Matichon newspaper said.
Mr. Pratthana Leelapanang, AIS chief of consumer business, said customers can now watch top movies from around the world on five HBO premium channels – HBO, HBO Signature, HBO HITS, HBO Family and Cinemax.
Subscription fee for both mobile phone and fixed broadband internet is 99 baht a month the first three months after which it goes up to 149 baht a month or 999 baht per year.
AIS Playbox currently has around one million subscribers and the company hopes that by introducing world-class content at a cost-effective level would boost viewing experience.
AIS already offers Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar and VIU streaming programmes.
AIS currently has 7.2 million 5G subscribers and by the end of the year the target is to increase to 15 million out of its total of 46 million users.
Altogether 11-12 million new smartphones will soon enter the market with more than half of them being 5G-supported.
