First MP resigns for drunk driving charge

MOVE FORWARD MP-DESIGNATE Natheepat Kulsethasit today (May 16) has become the first elected lawmaker to pronounce resignation after a single day of jubilation to take accountability for a drunk driving charge filed against her.

The MP-designate female, known for taking part in gender equality wedding activism, has relinquished her MP status following last night’s event in which she was caught driving under the influence at a police checkpoint on a Bangkok road in Kaset Navamin red light district.

During a press conference at the party headquarters, Natheepat offered her apologies to all voters who had picked her among a total of 39 Move Forward party-listed contestants in Sunday’s general election.

No by-election will be needed as the 40th candidate on the party list is automatically replacing the former legislator, who was first elected as a Future Forward MP in the 2019 election.
