A KAENG Krachan National Park official posted photos of a black panther showing off her cub two to three months after first spotting the big cat and this time accompanied by a cute little one, Naewna newspaper said today (May 23).
A large number of black panthers and leopards are living in this national park, Thailand’s biggest and located across Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan provinces, particularly along the Khao Sam Yot – Ban Krang – Panoen Thung route.
It is along this route that ecotourists are frequently able to capture photos of these big cats.
In sharing these photos the official would like Thais to cherish and guard the country’s wildlife resources while underscoring that Kaeng Krachan is fertile and in good condition.
On December 8, 2021 the former president of Italian-Thai Development Plc Premchai Karnasuta was sentenced by the Supreme Court to three years and two months in jail on charges of conspiring to slay a black panther and jointly possessing the game’s carcasses at Thung Yai Naresuan wildlife sanctuary in Kanchanaburi in early 2018.
