THE MOTHER of late actress Pataratida Patcharawirapong, or Tangmo Nida, who drowned in Chao Phraya river during a speedboat trip in February last year, went to the Crime Suppression Division today (June 16) to ask that a close friend be investigated on murder charge after fresh evidence emerged, Naewna newspaper and Sanook.com said.
Mrs. Panida Siriyuttayothin said before meeting the investigating officer she discovered that one of the six suspects who were with her when she drowned after falling off the speedboat had used her credit card three times over three days to buy goods while rescuers were still searching for her body.
She also found out that all the money from an accident insurance policy, amounting to one million baht, was given to Tangmo Nida’s adopted daughter even though she had previously filed a petition in court that 50% be given to her as her mother. However while the case was still proceeding in court the mother of her adopted daughter got the payout.
As this implied wrongful intent she had consulted her lawyer who agreed that a complaint be filed with Crime Suppression police.
She also said that a conversation between this suspect and an outsider recorded by a car camera indicated that this person intended to kill her daughter for financial gain.
Panida and a lawyer will now be petitioning Nonthaburi Provincial Court to reconsider reopening the case and change it from negligence in the death of others to murder.
However she did not say when this petition will be lodged.
The six suspects in this case are Mr. Tanupat Lerttaweewit, or Hi So Por, the speedboat owner; and Mr. Paiboon Srikanchananan, or Robert or Bird, the amateur skipper; Ms. Wisapat Manomairat, or Sand; Ms. Idsarin Juthasuksawat, or Gatick, her manager; Mr. Nithat Keeratisuthisathorn, or Job; and Mr. M. Phim Thamtheerasri, their consultant.
