Ex-coup leader-turned-ex-PM Prayut’s wealth said to total B130m

FORMER COUP LEADER-TURNED-FORMER prime minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his spouse Naraporn Chan-o-cha have been officially found to have a combined 130 million baht in wealth and without debt.

According to the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s report released today (Nov.24), Prayut, who rose to power by way of the 2014 coup which he himself orchestrated as army chief to run the country for nine years, has possessed 98.6 million baht in assets whilst his spouse has owned 31.5 million baht in assets.

Neither one of the couple who have twin daughters was reported to have been in debt, however.

That total of Prayut’s reported possessions includes 64 million baht in investment funds, 13.7 million baht in bank accounts, 6.8 million baht worth of real estate in Cha-am district of Petchaburi and San Patong district of Chiang Mai and 10 million baht worth of four automobiles, the NACC report says.

Prayut, who had earned an estimated 2.8 million baht in yearly pay as prime minister, and his spouse had been reported to have a combined 128 million baht in wealth when he became head of an unelected government in 2014.
