Pita most searched person on Thailand Google for 2023

FORMER MOVE FORWARD leader Pita Limjaroenrat has been the most searched person on Thailand Google for 2023.

Google today (Dec.16) reported that Pita has been found as the most searched person on the world’s largest search engine in Thailand this year.

Pita who has evidently become one of the most interesting figures in Thai political history has been ordered by court since July to stop performing as MP pending a court verdict on a lawsuit filed against him by the Election Commission for having allegedly held a tiny fragment of ITV Channel shares whilst assuming political positions.

The Constitutional Court is scheduled to pass a ruling on the highly contentious case on the upcoming Wednesday.

The former Move Forward leader had led an electoral campaign which secured 14.4 million votes in last May’s nationwide election but was practically denied by elected MPs and military-appointed senators a rise to premiership.

Meanwhile, Pita’s former spouse Chutima Teepanat has ranked second and Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin ranked fourth on Thailand Google’s most searched persons in 2023.

Srettha had been quietly promoted by deposed prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra as one of a trio of Pheu Thai contestants for prime minister following last May’s general election alongside Pheu Thai leader Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Pheu Thai MP Chaikasem Nitisiri.

Yingluck, sister of de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large Thaksin Shinawatra, has been personally associated with Srettha since both had earlier run real estate businesses.
