A POLICE and military unit patrolling Mae Sot border area late last night (July 14) ran into a group of Myanmar smugglers moving an online casino’s computer equipment into the country from Myawaddy township with this likely being taken across the country to Cambodia’s Poipet border town across from Aranyaprathet, Amarin TV said this afternoon.
While the smugglers managed to escape in the dark, the police-military unit seized some cardboard boxes they left behind. These contained two central processing units (CPUs), four monitors, two backup batteries, two boxes of computer accessories (keyboard, mouse and router) and seven boxes of consumables.
Police are certain that an online casino operating in Myawaddy is shifting to Poipet and hired smugglers to move their computer equipment across Thailand.
