A RAID on a warehouse in Bangkok’s Taweewattana district netted a large amount of knock-off brand name products worth over 20 million baht, TV Channel 7 said this afternoon (Aug. 15).
Fake brand name products seized in this raid include 5,067 “luxury” watches, 1,150 bottles of perfumes, 800 mobile phones, 770 headphones, 6,720 mobile phone batteries, 122 brake pumps, 3,496 shirts, 2,800 pairs of pants, 360 pairs of shoes and 208 handbags.
The raid was mounted by a Central Investigation Bureau police team after getting a search warrant from Central Intellectual Property and International Trade Court upon being tipped off that knock-off designer products smuggled from abroad for sale in Thailand were stored here.
At the warehouse they met Ms. Kanya (surname withheld) who told them that she was only the caretaker of the building with a Chinese man, named as Mr. Chen, being the owner of the smuggled fake brand name products.
All the counterfeit products were seized with investigation of this case continuing.
