THREE ministers including Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai who is currently acting prime minister were in a risky helicopter ride in a severe storm yesterday (Aug. 24) after flying to Phrae to inspect heavy flooding in this northern province, Amarin TV said today.
Pheu Thai’s Phrae MP Woravat Auapinyakul wrote about this scary helicopter trip to his province on his Facebook page today with the other two ministers being Deputy Prime Minister-cum-Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Agriculture Minister Thammanat Prompao .
After the three ministers landed at Phrae airport, Woravat said he suggested that they fly back right away because of uncertain weather.
“Less than three minutes after the helicopter took off, it started raining so heavily, I was in a state of shock, the whole Phrae city plunged into darkness, it was dark everywhere,” he wrote.
He added that he was continuing his programme to visit Kaeng Luang-Erawan Cave but had to turn back half way.
As all three ministers are safe Woravat said he would like to thank them for making this risky trip and that he was praying for their safety.
