Chiang Rai airport cancels all flights as floods rage

 

MAE FAH Luang Chiang Rai International Airport announced the cancellation of all flights amid severe flooding in the northern province, TV Channel 7 and Naewna newspaper said this afternoon (Sep. 12).

The flooding triggered by Typhoon Yagi has badly affected Mae Sai district and Chiang Rai city with many roads cut off and some bridges closed.

Thai Airways, Nok Air, Thai VietJet and Thai Lion Air all also announced cancellation of their flights to the northern province on their web pages.

The last flight arriving there today is Thai AirAsia FD 3209 due to touch down at 12.40 p.m. with this airline’s flight FD3210 departing at 1.10 p.m.
