KRABI planted red flags at some popular tourist islands due to heavy seas and continuous strong waves from today to Sunday (Sep. 19-22) for the safety of tourists, Amarin TV said.
Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park said key tourist attractions temporarily closed include Koh Phi Phi Le, Koh Mai Phai, Koh Poda, and Talay Waek sandbank.
Scuba diving and snorkelling is also forbidden around Koh Phi Phi Le, Koh Phi Phi Don and other Ao Nang district islands over the next few days.
Over 200 tour boat operators who regularly take tourists on trips from Ao Nang and Noppharat Thara beaches had to berth at Klong Son bay behind the national park office with strong waves continuously hitting them.
