SOUTHERN insurgents detonated a bomb just as a police vehicle drove past a road in Raman district of Yala province today (Oct. 14) damaging it but there were no casualties, Naewna newspaper said.
At 9.38 a.m. 191 Emergency Call Centre at Yala provincial police headquarters was informed of the bomb explosion with shrapnel damaging the vehicle.
A team from the 41st Ranger Regiment quickly went there and blocked off the road with only people living in that area allowed to cautiously go in.
The ranger team used a drone to inspect the scene and the surrounding area to report the initial situation.
Today’s blast on the roadside is in the same area where another bombing killed a former village headman several years ago with this route closed for public safety and a bomb disposal team is soon going in to inspect it.
