THAILAND’S first pet friendly train project kicked off today (Jan. 4) with owners of dogs and cats allowed to bring them along on the Red Line route but only on weekends, TV Channel 7 said.
This project has been launched by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) in collaboration with National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) with only dogs and cats allowed and restricted to one pet per passenger.
Conditions apply as follows:
– The pet must be kept in an closed pet carrier maximum 55cm wide, 37cm long and 30 cm high;
– Passengers bringing their pets along have to show their vaccination certificate;
– If the pet defecates the passenger must immediately clean it up;
– They may only travel on CAR1 carriages or those displaying Pet Friendly Train symbol.
Red Line trains run from Bang Sue where the large Krung Thep Aphiwat station is located to Rangsit via Don Mueang on one side and to Taling Chan on the other.
