Majority oppose investing in a casino: NIDA Poll

 

 MOST people oppose the policy to invest in a casino, legalising online gambling and holding a referendum on this issue, the latest NIDA Poll shows, TV Channel 7 said today (Jan. 26).

 According to the NIDA Poll recently conducted among a total of 1,310 people, altogether 59.16% of the respondents disagreed with setting up an entertainment complex which would include a casino while 28.93% were in favour of opening both this complex and a casino but 8.63% opted for an entertainment complex without a casino.

Regarding amending the law to legalise online gambling, 58.32% disagreed with doing so with only 19.92% agreeing with the move.

 As for holding a referendum on opening an entertainment complex/casino and legalising online gambling, 51.07% disagreed with this step while 37.86% were favour holding one before any action is taken.
