RESIDENTS of a housing estate in Chonburi’s Bang Lamung district called the police after a foreign man’s two pit bulls maul another family’s pet dog to death while he stood there watching and refused to take responsibility as they now fear for the safety of children and the elderly, Amarin TV said this evening (May 17).
Ms. Kaem Nuchchimphlee, or Auntie Cham, 60, said her dog was running back to the house as usual but just then the unidentified foreign man released his pit bulls, and they mauled her dog to death while he just stood there watching and did not stop them.
A similar incident happened before but no concrete measures were taken to deal with it.
Ms. Kantong Breaker, 70, said her niece, a transgender woman, was once verbally abused by this foreign man over walking her dog in the neighbourhood causing her to fear for her life.
Mr. Supachai Wongmuangkam, 48, another resident, said this man often caused trouble in their housing estate such as arguing with the security guards when drunk and setting off firecrackers which has changed the atmosphere there.
Many people are now afraid to go out for a walk or let their children run around due to the danger posed by the two pit bulls.
The residents have now filed a complaint at Nong Prue police station while also urging relevant agencies to implement measures to protect their pets and look after their safety.
