A HAIR-RAISING road rage confrontation ended with the driver of a sedan firing 15 shots at the rear of an enclosed pickup truck after anger built up over overtaking each other but fortunately no one got injured, Amarin TV said.
Pol. Col. Saksri Krairach, superintendent of Nong Ki police station, Nong Ki district, Buriram province, said the incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. last Wednesday (Sep. 17) on Highway 24 .
Mr. Nueng, 29, a resident of Samut Prakan province, reported that he was driving his modified pickup truck down the road when the sedan driver unleashed a volley of bullets at the vehicle’s rear end.
A video of this incident taken by the pickup truck’s dashcam was shared by “Jay Moi V+” who related that the driver was cruising along at 100 to 110 km/hr on the right lane. Then a faster sedan came up and flashed lights to move aside. However the pickup truck driver, seeing that the left lane, was clear, did not do so.
The sedan driver continued flashing lights and in the end the pickup truck driver gave way. But after that he in turn flashed lights at the sedan driver who after a while swung to the left lane, let the pickup truck move ahead, then fired two rounds totalling 15 gunshots.
Police later took Nueng to the scene of the shooting at Km 82-84 of Highway 24 which is in fact under the jurisdiction of Nong Bun Mak police station, Nakhon Ratchasima province, with a team from there coming to inspect the scene and take photographs.
Four bullet casings were found at the scene which were collected as evidence.
