THE air quality in Bangkok improved at 7 a.m. this morning (Dec. 5) with the average being 21 microgrammes per cubic metre (µg/m³) plus pollution levels are tending to decrease further and while this varies from district to district, the readings are within safe limits, PPTVHD36 said.
The Bangkok Air Quality Information Centre said the average 21 (µg/m³) is well below the 37.5 µg/m³ standard value with the improvement coming after air pollution soared in Bangkok and several other provinces on Tuesday (Dec. 2) after reaching 75 µg/m³ in Bangkok and four other provinces the previous day.
The concentration of ultrafine dust particles smaller than 2.5 micrometres was highest in the following 12 districts:
– Bang Rak: 30 µg/m³;
– Nong Khaem: 29.5 µg/m³;
– Bang Kho Laem: 28.9 µg/m³;
– Lat Krabang: 27.5 µg/m³;
– Pathumwan: 26.9 µg/m³;
– Prawet: 26 µg/m³;
– Sampantawong: 25.6 µg/m³;
– Thonburi: 25.4 µg/m³;
– Thawi Watthana: 24.4 micrograms µg/m³;
– Bang Phlat: 24.2 µg/m³;
– Phasi Charoen: 23.9 µg/m³;
– Ratchathewi: 23.9 µg/m³.
