Thai army releases video of Thai flag being planted at Prasat Ta Kwai temple

THE THAI army this morning (Dec. 17) released a dramatic video of the Thai flag being planted atop Prasat Ta Kwai ancient temple at the border in Phanom Dong Rak district, Surin province, amidst Cambodian gunfire with this being a genuine clip and not AI generated, Amarin TV said.

This video shows the bravery of Thai soldiers in the ongoing battle against Cambodians.

Meanwhile the Defence Ministry’s Deputy Spokesperson RADM Surasan Kongsiri said leaked documents show Cambodia had hired Western lobbyists to accuse Thailand of mounting violent operations against the neighbouring country to the international community in English.

This includes claims of negative impacts on nearby civilians. However the Thai air force has explained that it has used high-precision weapons, therefore, the targets are entirely military, with little to no impact on civilians. These are issues that lobbyists are continuously sensationalising to manipulate public opinion.

Some individuals have even cried and claimed that the clashes have greatly affected the Cambodian people, but there is a lack of photographic evidence or supporting documents as they only provide videos of themselves and then claim negative impact, he said. Another observation is why are so many foreigners suddenly appearing in Cambodia without any evidence or supporting pictures with the public urged to be cautious in viewing such media.

Meanwhile, Ms. Maratee Nalitaandamo, deputy spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, said Thailand is fighting attempts at manipulation with facts  with the ministry sending letters to various international organisations, including state parties of the Ottawa Convention,  based on evidence and factual information.

This is the most sustainable approach, unlike sensationalist news stories that may only have short-term effect but in the long run, they are unlikely to have a significant impact compared to Thailand’s data and facts, she added.
