250-kg safe holding 3m baht valuables stolen from influencer’s condo

A FOOD influencer is worried about her safety after thieves stole a 250-kilogramme safe containing over 3 million baht worth of valuables from her luxury condominium downtown Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) with no progress made in the case so far, Amarin TV said today (Mar. 16).

Ms. Phanrai Khemmee, or Mod Oil, 33, said on Facebook that the condo management asked for a police report before allowing access to surveillance camera footage but this has now been submitted to them.

“My safe was stolen. The condo management has received the report and is processing it. However, it will take time to check the cameras.

“The safe is quite large. The condo has over 800 rooms. How did they know it was there? How did they know which day and time I was out of the unit? The worst part is…what if I was sleeping?” she said.

Phanrai said she discovered that the 1.28-metre-tall, 59cm-wide and 60cm-deep safe weighing 250kg had mysteriously disappeared at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday March 14 after having last seen it on Feb. 21. Normally only she and her boyfriend use this unit and there are two sets of keys, one with her and the other the condo management,

Within were several high-value items, including two 10-baht gold bars, two five-baht gold bars, and five one-baht gold bars, totalling 35 baht weight (approximately 533.54 grammes). Other items inside the safe included a four-baht “Luang Pho Ruay” bracelet in a one-baht gold frame, valued at approximately 100,000 baht, and a Luang Pho Koon amulet in a gold frame, valued at approximately 10,000 baht. The total estimated loss is over 3 million baht.

She added that it was her boyfriend who discovered the big safe missing upon opening the built-in cabinet within which it was hidden. Surprisingly, there were no signs of forced entry or ransacking of other belongings in the unit which indicated the heist was well-planned with at least three persons required to move it and daringly doing so despite there being multiple security cameras installed both outside the unit and within the building.

Phanrai urged the police to quickly the arrest of the burglars as a large amount of valuables was stolen and the theft undermines public confidence in the condominium’s security
